Individual and Sole Trader Account: For individual customers or sole traders, this account is necessary for trading bullion. Identity verification is required, especially for transactions over AUD 2,000.
Australian Company Account: This account is designed for listed and unlisted companies, subsidiaries, and entities regulated by Australian government organizations. It requires specific due diligence documentation.
Foreign Company Account: Similar to the Australian Company Account, this is for listed and unlisted foreign companies, requiring completion of a designated due diligence form.
Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) and Regulated Australian Trust Account: This account is for SMSFs and regulated Australian trusts, which also require specific forms and identity verification.
Unregulated Australian and Foreign Trust Account: For trusts that are not regulated by an Australian government department, this account type requires additional documentation.
Other Non-Individual Accounts: Partnerships, government bodies, associations, and registered cooperatives fall under this category and must complete relevant due diligence forms.
To open an account with The Perth Mint, follow these steps:
Download Required Forms: Depending on the account type, download the appropriate customer due diligence form from the Perth Mint website.
Complete the Application: Fill out the form with accurate information, ensuring that the account name matches your identification documents.
Identity Verification: For accounts involving transactions over AUD 2,000, you must provide identity verification documents, such as a drivers license or passport. Certified copies may be required.
Submit Forms: You can either submit your forms and identification documents via a secure link provided by the customer operations team or bring them in person to the registration desk.
Account Processing: For non-individual accounts, it is recommended to make an appointment, as processing can take up to two hours. Individual customers typically do not need an appointment.
Receive Account Confirmation: Once your account is processed and verified, you will receive confirmation and your customer account number, which you should bring for all future transactions.
