Shares Account Type
Shares offers users a brokerage account through brokers like Alpaca Securities LLC for trading US stocks and Upvest Securities GmbH for trading EU stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. Currently, Shares provides cash, non-leveraged General Investment Accounts (GIA), also known as CTO (Compte Titre Ordinaire) accounts in France. When creating an account, users can choose between two types:
- Personal Account: Opened and operated solely in your name and available in all countries supported by Shares.
- Business Account: Opened and operated in your name on behalf of your company, available only for users in France.
Both account types provide access to a user-friendly app, ideal for creating and managing your portfolio.
Shares Broker Account Opening Process
To open a brokerage account with Shares, follow these steps:
- Download the App: Start by downloading the Shares app from the respective app store.
- Registration: Provide basic details such as your name, email address, and phone number.
- Choose Account Type: Select between a Personal or Business account based on your needs.
- Identity Verification: Complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process by submitting necessary identification documents.
- Funding Your Account: Make an initial deposit to fund your account. The app will guide you through the payment methods available.
- Start Trading: Once your account is verified and funded, you can begin trading using the app.
