GENERAL INFORMATION AND REGULATION Based in London, the business was founded in 1992 as part of the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group. In 1999, Ashmore became independent and today manages USD 91.3 billion (as at 30 September 2021) in pooled funds, segregated accounts and structured products. FIXED INCOME THEME Ashmores fixed income team is comprised of 33 investment professionals focused on the full range of emerging market debt opportunities in the hard currency and local currency markets. External Dept:Emerging Markets External Debt consists primarily of dollar-denominated sovereign (government) and quasi-sovereign (government-sponsored) bonds. Local Currency: Emerging Markets Local Currency Debt consists of sovereign (government), quasi-sovereign and occasionally regional government bonds issued in the domestic currency of the issuer. Corporate Debt: Emerging Markets Corporate Debt includes dollar-denominated bonds issued by public and private sector corporations in more than 60 countries. Blended Debt: For investors looking for a broad exposure the Emerging Markets Debt universe, Blended Debt offers a combination of USD-denominated External Debt and Corporate Debt along with Local Currency Debt and FX. EQUITIES THEME Ashmores equity team is comprised of 42 investment professionals focused on a broad range of emerging market equity opportunities across global emerging markets, regions and single countries. ALTERNATIVES The Alternatives theme seeks to provide investors with attractive returns across various investment strategies. ASHMORE FOUNDATION The Ashmore Foundation was established in January 2008 and seeks to make a positive and sustainable difference in the Emerging Markets communities in which Ashmore operates and invests. To achieve this goal, the Foundation aims to develop long-term relationships with high impact local non-government organisations (NGOs). Our financial support enables these organisations to directly enhance human welfare, opportunities and skills, particularly for the most vulnerable: children, young people and disadvantaged communities. As well as working directly with NGOs we work alongside other international funders to identify and support local solutions to social problems. The Foundation is supported solely by Ashmore and its employees globally. Crucially, this support from employees extends beyond financial aid through to active engagement in fundraising and a network of support which includes mentoring and helping NGOs expand their network of contacts.
