CCIL broker Accounts

CCIL Account Type

The Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL) offers various account types for different entities to participate in the financial markets. The main account types include:

  • Securities Segment Account: This account is for banks, financial institutions, primary dealers, mutual funds, payments banks, small finance banks, and other corporates. It allows members to access the securities market for clearing and settlement functions.

  • Triparty Repo Account: This account is designed for members participating in triparty repo transactions. Members must have a gilt account with the clearing corporation and maintain a current account with designated settlement banks.

  • Forex Segment Account: This account is tailored for authorized foreign exchange dealers, allowing them to engage in forex transactions and settlements.

  • Derivatives Segment Account: This account is for entities permitted by the Reserve Bank of India to enter into rupee derivative trades, allowing participation in derivative markets.

  • CCIL Broker Account Opening Process

    To open a CCIL broker account, entities must follow a structured process:

    • Eligibility Check: Ensure that your entity meets the financial eligibility criteria, such as minimum net worth and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    • Application Submission: Submit a request for membership through the e-registration portal: CCIL E-Registration Portal.

    • Documentation: Provide necessary documentation, including proof of compliance with capital adequacy norms, risk management systems, and any other specific requirements based on the account type.

    • Verification Process: CCIL will review the application and verify the submitted documents to ensure compliance with their standards.

    • Membership Approval: Upon successful verification, the entity will receive membership approval, allowing access to the respective market segments.

    • Account Setup: After approval, the entity can set up the account for trading and begin participating in the clearing and settlement processes.
