Each type of account comes with specific forms that must be completed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Opening an account with R.J. O'Brien is a straightforward process that involves several steps:
Select Account Type: Choose the type of account you wish to open (individual, joint, corporate, etc.) and download the corresponding account forms from the Forms & Documents Center.
Complete Forms: Fill out the downloaded forms completely. Ensure that you include the customer acknowledgment and warranty new account agreement disclaimer.
Submit Forms: Print the completed forms and return them to your R.J. O'Brien representative or introducing broker. If you do not have a representative, you can contact R.J. O'Brien at (800) 441-1616 for assistance.
Provide Identification: Include a copy of your driver's license, state identification, or current passport (for U.S. citizens), or other official government-issued identification (for non-U.S. citizens).
Fund Your Account: Your account must be funded before you can begin trading. You can fund your account through wire transfers or certified checks. Personal checks are currently not accepted due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Start Trading: Once your account is funded and all forms are processed, you can start trading.
