Cisco offers various types of accounts for users to manage their software licenses and agreements efficiently. The two main types are:
Customer Smart Account: This account is where all the customers licenses are deposited and organized. It can be managed directly by the customer, the partner, or both, providing flexibility in license management.
Partner Holding Account: This type of account is used by partners or distributors to temporarily store an order until the customer smart account is established. It allows for better organization and management of licenses before they are transferred to the customer account.
To open a Cisco account, follow these steps:
Visit the Registration Page: Go to the Cisco account registration page at Cisco Sign In.
Complete Required Fields: Fill in all necessary information to create your account.
Email Verification: After registration, an email with an activation code will be sent to verify your email address.
Activate Your Account: Enter the activation code on the verification page to complete the registration process.
Request a Smart Account: Once your Cisco account is active, log into Cisco Software Central and navigate to the smart licensing section to request your smart account.
Provide Company Information: Enter your organizations legal name and address, and designate account approvers.
Review and Create Account: Review the information provided and click "Create Account" to finalize the process.
