Tradition offers various types of accounts catering to different trading needs, primarily focusing on broker firm participants. The main account types include:
Broker Firm Participant (BFP): This account is designed for entities that are registered as futures commission merchants or introducing brokers, or are exempt from such registration. BFPs can enter orders or execute swaps on Tradition SEF platforms on behalf of customers or other participants, but cannot engage in SEF activity for their proprietary accounts. They provide intermediated access to Tradition SEF's order book liquidity.
Direct Customer Access: This allows customers to access Tradition SEF directly through the broker firm participants trading privileges, facilitating more efficient trading.
Market Data Distribution Agreement: This account type allows participants to distribute market data to their clients, enhancing their trading capabilities.
To open an account with Tradition, follow these steps:
Submit Forms: Return the completed forms to the designated email address: tradsefob@tradition.com.
Verification Process: Tradition will vet and verify the submitted documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Account Approval: Once approved, clients will be notified via email that they can proceed to fund their account.
Funding the Account: Clients can fund their accounts through various methods, typically involving electronic transfers from bank accounts.
By following these steps, entities can successfully onboard and start trading through Tradition's platforms. For more detailed information, visit Tradition SEF Onboarding.
