Tiger Brokers Account Type

Tiger Brokers offers two primary account types for its users:

  • Cash Account:
    • This is a basic account type that allows trading using cash only.
    • Margin trading and short selling are not available under this account.
    • Certain products like futures and options that require financing cannot be traded with a cash account.
    • There are no limits on the number or frequency of same-day trades (T+0 trades).
    • Margin Account:
      • This account allows for margin trading and short selling, with leverage up to 4 times for intraday trading and 2 times for overnight trading.
      • Traders can access all products available on the Tiger Brokers platform.
      • There are no restrictions on the number or frequency of T+0 trades.

Additionally, a cash account can be upgraded to a margin account if the user meets specific eligibility criteria, such as being aged between 21 and 75, having a full-time job, and maintaining an existing cash account with Tiger Brokers.
