Finvis' website seems to be down, and I found out that the company is registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Honestly, I'm not comfortable with the fact that their website is inaccessible, and it makes me wonder about their reliability. Plus, the fact that they are registered in a country known for lax regulations raises my concerns.

How We Rate Brokers: Our ratings are based on a comprehensive analysis of user feedback, expert reviews, and factual data regarding the broker's services.

Broker Overview

Founded in 2007 by Juraj Duris, Finviz (short for Financial Visualizations) has established itself as a leading stock screening and market analysis platform. It offers a variety of features, including stock screeners, market maps, and news aggregation tools. The platform is primarily web-based, focusing on U.S. stocks and ETFs, with no support for OTC or ADR listings. Finviz does not provide a mobile app, which can hinder accessibility for users who prefer trading on the go.

Detailed Insights

Regulatory Regions

Finviz primarily operates in the U.S. market, focusing on stocks and ETFs listed on major exchanges. It does not have a direct regulatory body overseeing its operations, which may raise concerns for some users. However, the platform is widely used by retail investors and professionals alike.

Deposit/Withdrawal Currencies

Finviz allows users to operate in U.S. dollars, and while it does not directly facilitate trading, it provides tools for tracking investments in various asset classes.

Minimum Deposit

Finviz does not require a minimum deposit to access its free features, making it accessible for casual investors. The Elite plan, which costs $39.50 per month or $299.50 annually, offers advanced features but does not mandate a deposit.

Bonuses/Promotions

Finviz does not currently offer bonuses or promotions for new users. However, the Elite plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, allowing users to test the service risk-free.

Tradable Asset Classes

Finviz primarily focuses on U.S. stocks and ETFs. It also provides insights into futures and forex markets, though its offerings in these areas are limited compared to dedicated platforms. The platform tracks popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, but the features for crypto trading are not as comprehensive.

Costs (Spreads, Fees, Commissions)

Finviz offers a free version with limited features and an Elite plan that provides real-time data and advanced charting tools. The free version displays delayed quotes, while the Elite plan offers real-time quotes. Users have reported that the free version is ad-supported, which can detract from the overall experience.

Leverage

Finviz does not facilitate trading, so leverage is not applicable in the traditional sense. Instead, it serves as a research tool to help investors make informed decisions.

Allowed Trading Platforms

Finviz operates through its web platform, which is accessible via any device with a browser. However, it does not have a dedicated mobile app, which limits its usability on smartphones.

Restricted Regions

While Finviz is primarily focused on U.S. markets, it does not explicitly restrict users from other regions. However, the absence of international market data may limit its appeal to global investors.

Available Customer Support Languages

Finviz primarily offers support in English, which may limit accessibility for non-English speaking users. The platform provides a help section with FAQs but lacks extensive customer service options.

Detailed Breakdown

Account Conditions

Finviz provides a free version with essential features, making it a great entry point for new investors. The Elite plan, while relatively affordable, unlocks advanced functionalities that cater to serious traders. Users appreciate the flexibility of the free version, but some have expressed frustration with the ads and limited customization options.

Tools and Resources

Finviz excels in offering a powerful stock screener with over 67 filters, allowing users to customize their searches effectively. The heatmaps and market visualizations are particularly praised for their clarity and usability. However, some users have noted that the charting tools could be more advanced, especially in the free version.

Customer Service and Support

Customer service has received mixed reviews. While many users find the platform easy to navigate, there are complaints regarding slow response times for support inquiries. Some users have reported difficulties in canceling subscriptions, which raises concerns about customer service reliability.

Trading Experience

The overall trading experience on Finviz is generally positive, with users appreciating the speed and efficiency of the stock screener. However, the lack of real-time data in the free version can be a significant drawback for active traders.

Trustworthiness

Finviz has a solid reputation in the market, with many professional traders and institutions utilizing its services. However, the absence of a regulatory body overseeing its operations may deter some users from fully trusting the platform.

User Experience

The user experience on Finviz is somewhat hampered by its outdated interface, which some users find cluttered. While the platform is functional, a more modern design could enhance usability.

Additional Features

The Elite plan offers backtesting capabilities, which are highly valued by advanced traders. This feature allows users to evaluate trading strategies using historical data, adding a layer of sophistication to the platform.

In conclusion, the Finviz review indicates that the platform is a valuable resource for both novice and experienced investors looking for comprehensive stock screening and analysis tools. While it has its limitations, particularly regarding mobile accessibility and customer service, the overall offerings make it a reliable choice for those seeking to navigate the complexities of the stock market.
